Homemade strawberry ice-cream... in just 5 minutes!
This past weekend was an absolute scorcher, so what better time to dust off the old apron and whip up a batch of homemade ice-cream?
I'm not suggesting spending hours in the kitchen - if you know me well, you'll know that I'm anything but a domestic goddess. This homemade strawberry ice-cream takes all of 5 minutes to make (excluding freezing time), and it's healthy to boot!
Ingredients
- 1 small banana
- 350g frozen strawberries
- 250g cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions
1. Blend the bananas, half the strawberries and the cream on high for 1 minute.
2. Add the rest of the strawberries and the vanilla, then blend until smooth but firm.
3. Freeze for two hours, or until set.
You'll find the original recipe here. Via Lauren Conrad.

I should totally try this out! I had the Magnum pink pomegranate flavour yesterday, to chase away the heat, and it tasted like a USN shake. Horrible!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing ;)
I've been so tempted to try the new Magnum flavour since seeing the ad on TV, but I'm a bit wary now that you've likened it to a USN shake - eugh! Think I'll stick to this recipe, rather... Let me know what you think once you've tried it!
DeleteThis looks so delicious and refreshing! I have just written this super easy recipe down and plan to make it on the next scorching hot day - Thank you :) x
ReplyDeleteIt is SO scrumptious... let me know what you think once you've tried it! xx
DeleteThis sounds so yum!!! I wonder if I can substitute the cream with something like Orley Whip? Cara has a dairy allergy :( I so badly want to give my little girl some ice cream this summer! Gonna try it xx
ReplyDeleteI know it's still dairy, but I tried it with plain yoghurt and it still turned out well, so I'm sure other substitutions, etc will work, too! xx
DeleteLook what I just found - it made me think of you :) http://fatmumslim.com.au/3-ingredient-instant-dairy-free-banana-macadamia-ice-cream/

Can it possibly that easy?! :) If it wasn't like -100C outside (ok, maybe more like 5 degrees) would definitely give this a go! Thanks so much for sharing! x
ReplyDeleteHaha, shame Roxy! Will you be coming back to SA in December? Hopefully you can top up on some sun (and homemade ice-cream!) then! Thanks for popping by! x
