While looking for some inspiration for my 31 Days to a calm, clutter-free home project (details here), I stumbled upon this ah-mazing home in Toronto, Canada. What I love most about this space is how real it feels. Unlike most homes I've come across on the net or in magazines, it feels lived-in. Loved. Achievable.
Makeshift office in the kitchen? Genius! We're lucky enough to have a fairly big kitchen and office space, but I know this isn't the case for many people. I can't think of a better spot - I tend to check my emails on the kitchen counter while wolfing down my breakfast most mornings anyway, so it seems perfectly practical.
I love the idea of having really posh hand wash and lotion beside the kitchen sink. I have a bottle of anti-bacterial hand wash - nothing fancy, but it works - in my kitchen, but I'm tempted to decant it into a prettier bottle. Same goes for dishwashing liquid.
This bedroom is my dream. I adore the white chest of drawers and can already imagine my makeup collection inhabiting a similar one. And the TV on the easel?! Now why didn't I think of that? (I know having a TV in your bedroom is supposed to be bad news, but we've got our one-and-only TV in our boudoir and I love it. Our TV cabinet is a nifty little job on wheels, so we simply wheel it out from behind the door when we feel like watching a movie, and wheel it back the next morning).
Those candles on the mantle! That's it! If anyone wants to know, all I want for my birthday (and next Christmas) are candles. Lots and lots of white, pillar candles.
I love my coffee table and have never thought to replace it, but this chic glass one is veeery tempting. I love the basket storage, too. And that carpet?!

Beautiful, I love the simplicity but with little added quirky features.
ReplyDeleteI agree! You really feel like you can do something similar in your own home, right?
