Wednesday Words
Highlight of the day... going for a much-needed manicure in beautiful Camps Bay first thing this morning. Angelique from LCN did their ever-popular Recolution Gel Polish system on my nails. This is a gel-polish hybrid, much like other gel polish systems you may have heard of. The beauty about this system is that your mani promises to stay chip-free for between 3 to 4 weeks which, I must admit, is a huge plus for a lazy nail maintainer like me! I took a break from my usual deep berry and mocha shades and chose a gorgeous, glitzy blue hue called "Twinkle Jeans" instead. You can expect a more detailed post and pictures soon!
Last night I... realised just how much of a slave to TV my fiance and I used to be. We made a conscious decision not to reconnect our DStv when we moved to Noordhoek about two weeks ago and I must admit, it was quite possibly the best thing we could have done - both for our relationship and for my personal wellbeing. I've come to realise that I need quite a bit of "me-time" in order to unwind and recharge after a busy day, and the way I used to do this was by plopping in front of the TV and staying there for a couple of hours. After two weeks of being TV-less, I've come to understand that vegging in front of the TV really doesn't do much in terms of relaxation. Last night I managed to unpack a few more boxes in our kitchen, I cooked dinner, had a long conversation with my fiance while relaxing in front of the fire, and even managed to have an hour-long soak in the tub. Needless to say, I felt completely relaxed and ready to face today by the time I went to bed. I realised that, before we disconnected our DStv, I would come home in the evenings and rush to get dinner sorted so that I could sit down in front of the TV, only to watch yet another repeat of some random series that I don't even enjoy that much. I have to say, life without a TV is really growing on me.
Current favourite song... This dreary, grey weather always makes me crave some Bat For Lashes.
Right now I am wearing... Again, all black! My much-loved (and well-worn) black leggings from Country Road, my black sequined Guess jersey and nude pumps from Woolworths.
Five beauty products I'm obsessed with at the moment...
QMS MediCosmetics everything. Again! All my QMS products ran out in June and it took me forever to get round to stocking up again, but I finally did so at the beginning of this month and I've been reminded of exactly why I love this range. I'm currently using the Deep Cleansing wash (you simply must try it - it's a delicious, creamy formula that you apply to dry skin. It literally melts away oil, dirt and makeup, leaving your skin feeling soft, clean and most importantly, hydrated - even before applying a moisturiser), the Exfoliant Fluid, the Day and Night Collagens (which I've been keeping in the fridge after seeing this post - thanks for the tip, Tori!) and my ultimate moisturiser, 24H Cream.
Scent of the day... Jo Malone Wild Bluebell Cologne. Can you tell I'm longing for Spring?
I'm looking forward to... this weekend! My parents and twin brothers are in town, so I'm looking forward to spending some much-needed quality time with them.
