"I have a really beautiful vintage dresser that serves as my nightstand – “inherited” from my mom and stuffed into the back of my small car in my student days to get it transported from Knysna to Johannesburg. It was worth the effort, as I love the look of it.
Most of the items on my nightstand are ironically not meant for use at night, but more for easing into early mornings. Pride of place goes to my brand new GHD (Christmas present to me, from me) to create straight and smooth strands or a curly mess for the day. A few stray hair accessories have also made my nightstand their home ever since they are being used more often than not these days."
"In terms of personal style and fashion, the only thing that has stayed relatively consistent over the years is my taste in jewellery. With all the pieces I have collected over the years, I found that the only way to get proper wear out of all of them is to have them on display for easy selection each day. As such, my favourites are on my nightstand, either hanging from Stella the jewellery doll, or in and around a vintage champagne glass.
Although there are none in the photographs, I often have the odd lip balm, bottle of nail varnish or box of vitamins lying around, but I tidied the nightstand for its photo opportunity. Justine Tissue Oil has been within easy reach on the nightstand to nurse the scars of a recent knee injury."
"And then there’s the drawer, but thankfully this post is about what’s ON my nightstand and not in it, since the contents of that drawer would make a lady blush. ;-)"
To further indulge my curiosity, I'll be doing a regular series called 'On My Nightstand' where fellow bloggers and friends will take a few snap shots of their nightstand and send a brief description for your viewing pleasure, so be sure to check back regularly for the next installment. If you'd like to share the contents of your nightstand, please be in touch. I'd love to hear from you!
