"The colour scheme in my room is black and white, which is rather simple considering the fact that I love 'cute' things - think cupcakes and all that jazz. I'm also a fairly neat person so I don't have a lot of items scattered on my bedside table, but rather packed away in my closet in perfectly organised boxes, bags and shelves.
But the few things I do have on my bedside table are items that I use all the time. My bedside table is more of a butler's tray and therefore can't hold all that much. At the moment I have a gorgeous pink orchid next to my bed - I personally don't know a woman that doesn't love a beautiful orchid. It's pretty to look at and is purely there for aesthetic reasons."
"A while ago my sister gave me this adorable little Kokeshi Doll. It appeals to the super-girly side of myself that loves 'cute' items. But the best part is that it opens up to reveal another one of my loves - makeup. I love that this little doll can be used as decoration and still remain practical. The makeup is from Pupa Cosmetics - the eyeshadow quality is standard and one of the lip glosses is my absolute favourite."
"Naturally, being a beauty blogger, I will have some beauty products on my nightstand. I keep the main items that I use every night next to me as a gentle reminder that I need to use them. This applies mainly to the cuticle cream. I have shockingly bad cuticles and if this cream is out of sight, it will be out of mind. Lip balm is an absolute must and this specific one from Yes to Carrots is 95% organic. The Pedi Relax foot cream is an item I received from Glambox a while back and is now firmly planted on my nightstand. The other two items are to help me relax and sleep at night. I suffer from anxiety and the soothing scents of lavender and Moon Flower does the job."
"I'm currently reading a book that probably looks like it's meant for teen girls. When I was young(er) I was crazy about the Sweet Valley series. I read Twins, Unicorn Club, High and University. I absolutely have to know what eventually happened to my favourite characters! Lastly, you'll see my Blackberry in all it's glory. She never leaves my side and is probably another one of my obsessions. She is looking so pretty at the moment with her Betty Boop theme!"
I remember being just as obsessed with the Wakefield twins - my best friend at the time was the more practical Liz, while I used to pretend to be wild child Jess. I can't wait to get my hands on this book! Thanks so much for giving us a glimpse into your bedroom, Chicara!
To further indulge my curiosity, I'll be doing a regular series called 'On My Nightstand' where fellow bloggers and friends will take a few snap shots of their nightstand and send a brief description for your viewing pleasure, so be sure to check back regularly for the next installment. If you'd like to share the contents of your nightstand, please be in touch. I'd love to hear from you!
