"My nightstand is fairly unexciting and says very little about me, so I have decided to share both what's on top of my nightstand, as well as what's in my top drawer - which, I must add, is the most random accumulation of stuff ever!"
On top of my nightstand
"This is the top of my nightstand and is part of a narrow unit with four drawers to store all my rubbish in. I have a picture frame that I got from Selfridges in London with a photo of my best friend, Kirsty, at her wedding which was earlier this year. I then have a vintage clock that belonged to my Mum’s granny (or something along those lines) however doesn’t have batteries in it as the clock ‘ticking’ is too loud.
The gold candle in the front is from London and is one of my all-time favourite candle brands called Dyptique. This is their limited edition John Galliano candle. I love the smell and have one next to my bath too – the perfect relaxation scent. The bigger candle was a birthday gift from my best friend. It is from a shop called L’Orangerie and smells of Ylang Ylang – so beautiful and always a treat to burn.
Finally my staple lip balms: the first one is a cherry-flavoured balm from Carmex that works a treat! The next is my super luxurious lip treatment from ‘By Terry’ (previously YSL). This is their Baume de Rose lip balm – you wake up feeling like you have just had a shot of collagen in your lips; plump and hydrated!"
In my top drawer
"We would be here forever if I went through each drawer with you, so I am just showing you the main things from my top drawer. Firstly, there is the book I have just started reading, which is called Blow by Blow and recounts the story of Isabella Blow. I use my Elle notepad to jot down just about anything – especially thoughts that I have in the middle of the night (those are always the best!).
My Moroccan Oil is fast becoming my ultimate beauty product. It has been in my top drawer as I have not only been using it in my hair, but also mixing it with my body cream – great beauty tip.
Next is my Nivea Happy Time body cream – I got this a while back and not the biggest fan of the over-powering smell but it will do for my legs when in bed.
Then comes my creative collections. I have a separate cupboard for this (yes, you heard me) but some of the stuff often ends up in my drawer when making little odds and ends on my bed. You'll find two of my stamp sets – the first is my Paris themed stamps and secondly are my alphabet stamps, then there is my Staedler fine liner tube – best pens ever! And, of course, my ridiculous supply of ribbon (and this is only the start of my collection!). Some other things that aren’t in my photo are the latest glossy magazines, hand cream, slips and forms (coming out of my ears as I seem to stuff every receipt or vaguely important document in here)."
Thanks so much for sharing the contents of your nightstand with us, Tori! If you haven't checked out Kiss, Blush and Tell yet, get clicking right away! (While you're at it, check out the guest post I recently did for Tori, which features my top five beauty products at the moment). You can also follow Tori on Twitter by clicking here.
To further indulge my curiosity, I'll be doing a weekly post called 'On My Nightstand' where fellow bloggers & friends will take a few snap shots of their nightstand and send a brief description for your viewing pleasure, so be sure to check back regularly. If you'd like to share the contents of you nightstand, please be in touch. I'd love to hear from you!
