Those who know me well will tell you that I'm a sucker for new fragrances - with each and every new launch (and considering that my job is beauty, I'm privy to all these launches as and when they happen), I have a new firm favourite to add to my wish list. But those who know me very well will tell you that, although there's plenty of space in my fragrance collection for all the bottles in the world, there's just enough space for one scent in my heart, and that would be Thierry Mugler's Angel.
This might explain my excitement when the invite to the Groupe Clarins presentation for the first quarter of 2012 landed on my desk. Not only am I a huge fan of Clarins' skincare products (Clarins Pure Melt Cleansing Gel is sublime), but the group also owns the Azzaro, Swarovski and Thierry Mugler fragrance brands. All these brands have some exciting new launches coming up in 2012, but you'll have to get all upcoming issues of O, The Oprah Magazine for more info on those!
For the moment, I wanted to share this gorgeous video that we were shown at the Thierry Mugler Angel presentation. Eva Mendes was recently announced as the new face of Angel, and now, she's the voice of Angel too. I must admit that I was skeptical when I heard that she would be singing 'The Windmills of your Mind' (from the Thomas Crown Affair) for the new ad campaign, but Eva blew me away. If ever there was a doubt in my mind that she is the perfect fit for Thierry Mugler Angel, this video erased all signs of it. She's strong, independent, sexy and self-assured - a big change from her predecessors (Jerry Hall, Naomi Watts, etc) who came across as more vulnerable and fragile.
