Today's post comes from another beauty addict, who also happened to get married over the weekend! From what I can tell (based on her latest Facebook post), Mrs Hartley is shopping up a storm on her honeymoon in Prague as I type - I'm green with envy! I couldn't help but wonder what this self-confessed fashionista keeps in her makeup bag, so I was thrilled when she agreed to share the details of her beautiful life with me. Read on!
Beauty is... everywhere.
The best beauty advice I ever received... wears unscreen every day. I literally apply SPF to my face even if it’s overcast and raining outside. My mum was SPF obsessed when I was a kid, pulling me out of the pool or off the horse every few minutes to apply more. It used to irritate me so much, but now I’ve taken on the habit myself. She has aged incredibly beautifully, and I think that’s mostly why. I don’t even tan any longer. When I’m at the beach I’m covered in SPF, and under the umbrella. I use Nimue Sun C for my face daily, and a Nimue SPF spray for my body in summer.
If I could use only one beauty product for the rest of my life... Make-up wise, it would have be Tom Ford’s true coral lipstick. It's simply divine! Skincare-wise, I'd pick Nimue’s Super Hydrating Serum on my face, and good ol’ fragrance-free aqueous cream for my body. Whoops, that's three!

In my makeup bag...
I use the same stuff most days, unless I’m going dramatic like now and then when I do a crazy colour of eye shadow, or a smoky eye. I generally do very little make-up day to day, although I love the routine of applying make-up. I use all the correct brushes, and every item has its place in the dresser. I absolutely despise doing my hair, but make-up is like a few minutes of serenity for me. Most of my make-up is MAC, with the odd item from Chanel, Dior, and YSL.
If I’m not feeling the need to do a full foundation/concealer/powder/bronzer/blush routine, I go for Dior Skin “nude glow”; perfect for a bit of colour without effort. Alternatively, I use MAC liquid foundation, as well as concealer, along with the following:
MAC “Golden” bronzer;
YSL blusher [it's vital to get the ideal shade for your complexion];
MAC pressed powder [loose powder is the worst thing I have ever bought. I hate it.].
MAC ‘Patina’ eye shadow. A pretty, champagney colour for every day.
MAC ‘Opulash’ black mascara.
Elizabeth Arden 8-hour Cream for my lips.

The 3 most beautiful things in my life at the moment are... my new husband, my Tiffany engagement ring, and the life we are about to start together in our wonderful new flat!
