On My Nightstand

I have a confession to make: I am a bit of a voyeur. There's nothing I love more than sneaking a peek into friends' and family members' bathroom cabinets to catch a glimpse of all their best-loved beauty products and other treasures. I think your bathroom cabinet and the contents of your handbag say a lot about you, and I've recently developed a fascination with other people's bedside tables, too.

So what better way to introduce my personal blog - a collection of all the things, people and places that I find beautiful and mean the most to me - than by giving you a little glimpse of what I keep on my nightstand?

My bedside table may
seem minimal, but it's really not. See that little black box on the very right? It's chock-full of all my essential night-time beauty treats - think serum, eye cream, night cream, lip balm, a rich foot cream, an eyelash serum and other miscellaneous beauty goodies (like nail polish wipes and a nail file for night-time touch ups). I'm a firm believer in the fact that a serene, calm environment results in a peaceful mind, so after I ran out of space in my drawer (which houses current reading material in the form of books and magazines, a notebook to record my dreams, a journal and countless pens), I decided to invest in a few simple storage options to make bedtime more of a tranquil experience.

I keep a basket beneath my nightstand for any additional books and magazines that don't fit into the drawer. This basket is cleared out every few months to make way for new books and magazines. Since magazines literally
are my bread and butter, it makes sense that I have a slight obsession. I simply can't walk past a shelf of the latest glossies without bringing one home!

To further indulge my curiosity, I'll be doing a weekly post called 'On My Nightstand' where fellow bloggers & friends will take a few snap shots of their nightstand and send a brief description for your viewing pleasure, so be sure to check back each Monday for the next installment. If you'd like to share the contents of your nightstand, please be in touch. I'd love to hear from you!
