Motherhood Mondays: Baby Throne Giveaway

As a (not-so) new mom, I've been amazed at how quickly time flies and how baby's milestones start to overlap one another. I remember being so excited when Bean started to hold his own head up (he felt so much less fragile once he was able to do this!) at around the six week mark, and now he's already got his first tooth and is getting ready to start crawling!

Needless to say, thoughts have started to turn to baby-proofing our house, and I've even started reading up on potty-training. It was while researching various potty-training techniques and tips that I came across the KBT Baby Throne (R999, available at knightsbabytraining.com), an ergonomically-designed, medically-endorsed toilet-training aid that encourages your baby to 'go potty' on his or her own. Seriously.

Apparently babies as young as four months old can start using the Baby Throne, which is what sets it apart from other toilet-training aids. The ergonomically designed Baby Throne supports your baby or tot from all sides in a comfortable, warm foam and holds him or her in a squatting position (the optimal position for releasing the bowels - your baby will instinctively start to push). You can use the Baby Throne in three ways: with your baby's nappy on so that s/he can get a feel for the Baby Throne, as a potty, or placed directly over the toilet. It sounds a little bit odd, but one look at the video (here) was all it took to convince me. The fact that the KBT Baby Throne is Baby Clinic Approved and is endorsed by paediatricians and paediatric surgeons has me even more convinced: the KBT Baby Throne is now officially on my lust-list (never did I think that I would have a toilet-training aid on my 'lust list'!)

Still not convinced?

- Did you know that the average baby goes through approximately 5 nappies per day?
- That amounts to roughly 3 650 nappies from birth to two years old.
- At the moment, disposable nappies cost approximately R3,12 per nappy, which means that you'll spend around R11 400 on nappies in your child's lifetime.
- The Baby Throne and Baby Throne Technique has been proven to save up to 2 200 nappies per baby.
- That means that, with the use of the Baby Throne and Baby Throne Technique, you can save roughly R6 875 per baby!

And if you need even more convincing...

- The Baby Throne is recyclable.
- It will help you cut down on disposable nappies, thus reducing environmental damage.
- It's easier to 'train' a six month old, for example, than it is to 'train' a two year old.
- It saves you both time (less nappy changing) and money.
- It also prevents nappy rash and reduces the risk of urinary tract infection.

Now, for the fun part:

One incredibly lucky mama has the chance to win her own KBT Baby Throne, worth R999. I am SO envious of this prize, guys. And it's super-easy to enter - simply follow the steps below. The closing date for all entries is Monday, 16 September 2013 at 5pm sharp. The winner will be selected at random via Punchtab. Good luck!
