Good Things

I'm just going to put it out there: I can't wait for July to come to an end and for a new month to begin, (hopefully) bringing with it only happy experiences, good times with my little family, and plenty of opportunity to rest. (A little bit of balance wouldn't go amiss either, but as a working mom, I'm not counting on that!) I used to do regular posts featuring the simple pleasures that bring a smile to my face and help me to tread a little lighter, but these seem to have been forgotten among all the exciting changes that have taken place over the past year (like getting engaged, falling pregnant, tying the knot, and having a baby).

I was reminded of these posts again when one of my favourite bloggers (and the inspiration behind these posts in the first place), Emily, posted a link to one of her older posts. With everything that's been going on these past two weeks, I decided that it was about time I took some time to focus on the positive, so here's my list of some of my favourite things...

1. Early morning snuggles with Bean
2. Road tripping with my husband
3. Enjoying a cappuccino and paging through a magazine while having my hair done
4. A long walk on the beach to clear my head and get the blood pumping
5. When a planning meeting at work goes really well
6. Cuddles from my little brothers
7. A coffee date with my mom
8. Mastering a difficult yoga pose (I need to start yoga again... but when?!)
9. A brand new pair of shoes
10. Fridays!

What are some of your simple pleasures?

  1. Watching all 3 of my boys wake up 5 minutes of each other, and them walking into the kitchen, with their hair all tousled giving me a hug Good Morning, except Adam, he is the first one awake and in my arms...ha ha!

  2. Love your list. Am definitely trying to appreciate the little things more often and when I do stop and reflect how fortunate I am it makes me feel so happy even though nothing has changed.
