Since I went back to work almost three weeks ago, I've become super-stingy with my time. Would I rather cook an elaborate meal, or buy a ready-made meal from Woolies and spend some quality time with Bean? An extra hour of shut eye or some one-on-one playtime? I think the answer is pretty clear. So what could possibly be
so enticing that I'd be tempted to leave the house for four hours -
four hours! - on a Saturday morning, leaving my baby in the (very capable, as it turns out) hands of his father?
Yup, you guessed it: the Mama Mio Royal Baby Shower, which was held at the chic Langaro Lifestyle Centre in Camps Bay. My love for Mama Mio's fantastic range of products is no secret, so I was pretty excited when I received the invitation, and even more so when I read what the day would entail: canapes, cupcakes, bubbly, pampering of epic proportions, and an awesome goodie bag to boot!

I must admit that I was a tad nervous when I saw that there would be 'fun baby shower games' - I've been subject to far too many awful baby shower games so I was expecting the worst. But Liz - my VIP guest - and I had so much fun coming up with an absurd name for the Royal baby and matching other guests' baby photos to more recent snaps. We both ended up winning the Kate Middleton Trivia Challenge and I was thrilled when I received my prize - a brand new bottle of Mama Mio Boob Tube, which is most probably my favourite of all the Mama Mio products. I've always had a bit of a love/ hate relationship with my boobs - yes, they're a great size and all that, but they need
a lot of work in terms of staying perky, and this product helps me to achieve that.

| As you can tell, I really needed this hair consultation! Bad hair day, anyone? |
Guests were treated to a hair consultation, a manicure and a pedicure - just what the doctor ordered. I seriously can't remember the last time I had a proper pedicure (as opposed to a rushed, DIY job), so it was bliss to be able to put my feet up and relax while someone else tended to my feet for once! I haven't felt this pampered since I was pregnant!

| Finally! A much-needed pedicure... my first in months! |
We also had the opportunity to touch and feel the entire Mama Mio range and - given my obsession with this range - I was surprised to discover a product that I didn't know existed! The Mama Mio See-No-Scar Solution encourages skin regeneration and is ideal for use on c-section and other surgical scars. This one's gone straight onto my shopping list!
Thank you so much to Mama Mio and everyone at Poise Brands South Africa for hosting Liz and I. We had such an amazing time, nibbling on scrumptious snacks, playing with fantastic products and enjoying a spot of pampering, while bonding with fellow moms and bloggers. I returned home to my boys feeling fabulously relaxed and ready for anything!
