Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer
I am obsessed with this product. I haven't stopped wearing it since I got my hands on a tube a couple of months ago. I love the silky texture that literally melts into your skin upon application, and I swear my skin looks smoother afterwards. It makes your foundation last for ages, and I often wear it on it's own if I'm in a rush or running low on time - it contains Vitamins A and E, green tea and grape seed extract, so has plenty of skincare benefits, too.
Inglot Cream Foundation in 21
I'm very fussy when it comes to foundation: I like a full coverage finish that looks natural and allows my skin to breathe - not too much to ask, then! As a result, I tend to stick to my tried-and-tested favourites that I end up buying over and over again. I bought this Inglot foundation on a whim after falling in love with several other products from the brand, and I was pleasantly surprised! The technical blurb claims that "sponge-like spheres, treated pigments and breathable film formers allow this long-lasting, transfer-resistant foundation to blend perfectly without clogging pores". My opinion? It blends smoothly and easily, covers pesky imperfections, feels wonderfully comfortable on your skin and most importantly, my skin looks like skin.
Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee in Topaz Chameleon
I first spotted this product at a beauty launch for work, but I wasn't tempted to try it until I saw Estée's review. Although I love just about everything about this product - the look, the feel (it's silky soft - as can be expected from a product that's a liquid, gel and powder in one!), and the colour. BUT. I'm struggling to figure out how best to apply it. Regardless of how much I try to get rid of excess product on my blush brush (blowing, tapping, I've tried everything!), this product goes on very heavily. I spend a good couple of minutes blending, blending and blending some more to ensure that it looks even and natural. I really love the end result (once I get there), so I'm going to keep playing around with different brushes and application techniques till I get it just right. I'll keep you posted.
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick Sunscreen SPF15
I know Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is a multi-purpose product, but I rarely use it for anything else other than my lips, so when I spotted this Lip Protectant Stick, I was sold! There's not much else to say about this product; it pretty much speaks for itself. What I will say is it's one of the best lip balms out there.
Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer
Arguably one of my favourite beauty launches of 2013. This product ensures that your concealer glides on smoothly and evenly and never cakes, smudges or slips. It also instantly brightens the under-eye area, contains caffeine to minimize puffiness and claims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in just eight weeks.
Inglot AMC Cream Concealer in 66
This creamy concealer is a dream to use! I strayed away from my usual concealer (Bobbi Brown's Creamy Concealer) to try this one from Inglot, and although I wouldn't give up my Bobbi Brown concealer just yet, this is a product that I'll buy in addition to the Bobbi Brown one in future. It's soft, creamy texture makes it particularly easy to apply - great for those who are only just getting into using a concealer. However, I find that it wears off after a couple of hours if I don't set it with a powder, so you might like to get your hands on a translucent powder while you're at it.
Chanel Illusion D'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Illusoire
The unique gel-like formula of this eye shadow means that it can be worn both as an eyeshadow (smeared across the lid for an easy, shimmery eye) and a liner. I've been using my fingers to apply it over my entire eye lid as a quick and easy way to brighten up my eyes and add a little something extra to my usual winged liner look. I like that you can layer more product for a more intense effect, or apply a thin layer for a subtle, shimmery look that's just the right amount of 'done' for everyday, work wear.
YSL Dessin Du Regard Crayon Yeux Haute Tenue in 1 Velvet Black
This liner is so worn that you can barely read the text on the pencil - I use it that often! What I like most about this long-wearing pencil is that it can be easily smudged to create a sultry, smoky eye in five seconds flat. I generally apply this pencil to my upper and lower lashline - rather haphazardly, I'll admit - then blend, blend, blend using both the built-in blending tip and my fingers. It's the perfect pencil for women who haven't necessarily mastered the art of applying liner, since it's so easy to smudge and rub away any mistakes.
Bobbi Brown Creamy Lip Color in Pale Mauve
I don't wear a lot of lipstick (I prefer good ol' gloss), so the fact that this bullet is almost finished speaks volumes about it's luxurious, creamy texture and gorgeous, rich colour. Pale Mauve is an easy-to-wear nude shade that lasts on your lips and makes you look perfectly polished. The fact that this lipstick contains emolient shea butter probably explains why I love it so much - never have I ever come across a lipstick that is quite as hydrating or comfortable to wear. The Creamy Lip Color in 'Raisin Berry' is at the top of my Winter beauty shopping list - nothing screams 'Winter' quite like a rich, berry hue and this moisturising formula is set to be a winner during the cooler months, when chapped lips become the norm.
Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara
I am a mascara fiend - I have different mascaras for different occasions and moods. If I'm after a fun, flirty look, this is inevitably the mascara I choose. It lengthens and defines lashes, and I like to load it on my outer lashes for dramatic effect.
These products are all from my personal makeup collection. I was not paid to write this post.

So jealous of some of these items :)

ReplyDeleteWow! Ha is a collection of makeup I would LOVE to have! :)
ReplyDeleteIf I wasn't on a Stila rampage right now I would rush out and buy those Smashbox primers right away! Beautiful makeup you have there. I would love, love to own some Chanel makeup but I will wait and see what goes on with their animal testing.
