Sometimes it really is worth remembering that the small things in life are often the best. Little things, like a long soak in the tub, an evening spent watching movies and indulging in junk food, an hour in a coffee shop sipping a latte while paging through glossy magazines, even something as simple as a brand new nail colour.
For as long as I can remember, Sundays have been allocated to enjoying all of my favourite little luxuries. When I was younger, and before I became a mom, Sundays were often spent in my pajamas, reading Sylvia Plath and ordering Steers takeaway for lunch. Sunday evenings were dedicated solely to beautifying myself for the week ahead: manicure, pedicure, self-tanner... you name it. These days, I find that a long bath, complete with a luxurious bath oil, hair masque and facial treatment, does the trick.
My recent obsessions?
Sanctuary Spa Warming Micro Brasion Polish - a real treat for dull, lifeless skin. I absolutely love the fact that this luxe scrub heats up as you buff away dead skin cells; it's the perfect warming treat for chilly winter days. I've been using it two to three times per week for about two weeks now and I find that my skin feels much smoother and looks more radiant. Miraculous, considering the fact that I'm a tired, sleep-deprived mum!
REN Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil - pricey? Yes. But so, so worth it, especially for those (like me!) who love nothing better than a long, indulgent soak in the tub. Simply pour two capfuls of this gorgeously scented oil under running water and you'll emerge with soft skin and a sensual, lingering scent trailing behind you.
Philip Kingsley Elasticizer Extreme - this is one hyped-up product that certainly lives up to its claims. I really ought to use it more often, but it is a bit of a mission, I'll admit. This mask should be applied to towel-dried hair before shampooing, and left on for as long as you see fit (I'd recommend 15 minutes with a plastic shower cap on for best results). Simply rinse, shampoo, condition and style as usual and prepare to be wowed. I vow to be more religious in my use of this beauty after literally every use - the results truly are that amazing.

Love this post. Definitely want to try the Sanctuary Spa product.
ReplyDeleteI've tried a few more Sanctuary Spa products - reviews coming soon! - and they are amazing! Definitely worth a try!
DeleteI love philip kingsley's elasticizer, it is a little pricey but a tiny amount makes my hair feel amazing. You have such incredibly shiny healthy looking hair, always wondered what hair products you use.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! What a compliment! I use MANY hair products to keep it looking healthy, so glad they seem to be working! (I also flat iron my hair every day, so it needs all the help it can get!)
