My Beauty Buy of the Week: {Body Thrills Rose & Vanilla Bath Tea and Body Butter}

My love for gorgeous home-grown bath and beauty brand Body Thrills is no secret (see here and here), but I always seem to stumble upon new products that I simply adore. Two recent additions to my bathroom shelf (in fact, they haven't even made it on to the shelf - they live next to the bath 24/7!) are Body Thrills Rose & Vanilla Bath Tea and Body Thrills Rose & Vanilla Body Butter. Both retail at R90 each and contain rose, crushed vanilla pods, white tea and shea butter to soften dry post-winter skin.

The Rose & Vanilla Bath Tea is an absolute treat: it smells heavenly and my skin is left feeling super-soft after I step out of the bath (if not a tad wrinkly - I find that it's near impossible to have quick bath when I use this; instead, I end up luxuriating in the tub for hours on end). You can sprinkle a handful directly into your bath (the rose petals make for a romantic treat, simply add some candlelight for ambiance), but I prefer to scoop some into the organza drawstring bag provided for a no-mess, no-fuss experience. All that's left to do is to pop the 'teabag' into a warm bath and soak off the day's stress. Bliss! I've found this product to be incredibly soothing after a long, chilly day at the office and it became my go-to bath-time treat during our recent move. There's nothing better than climbing into a warm bath to ease your tired muscles and calm a frantic mind!

I was worried that using both the Rose & Vanilla Bath Tea and Body Butter may leave me smelling a bit too rose-y for my liking, but the Body Thrills Rose & Vanilla Body Butter provides rich moisture with a subtle rose scent, and I've found that I can use this after my morning shower and still apply my regular fragrance without becoming an assault to the senses! Since it's rose scented, it's perfect for this time of year: ideal for hydrating dry, post-winter skin, while the gorgeous floral scent reminds you of Spring blossoms and goes perfectly with Spring's floral fragrances. Upon first application I found that it sits on the skin initially and it requires a good rub down, but before you know it, your skin's soaked up the rose-y goodness and your skin feels well nourished all day long. My tub is almost finished so I've started using it on my legs only in an effort to make it last longer. Luckily, at only R90 for a 125ml tub, stocking up on my beloved body butter won't break the bank!

  4. The chocolate Pudding Scrub is out of this WORLD! Needless to say I finished the tub in, oh, about a week!
